Great to meet you!

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I believe therapy works best as a genuine, human interaction—not a rigid clinical lecture. I’ve been working in the mental health field for nearly 20 years, bringing you seasoned experience while keeping things grounded in the reality that we’re both ordinary people doing our best. While I frequently work with LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent individuals, my practice is open to anyone ready for meaningful change—whether you're working through intense life disruption, burnout, or simply trying to get out of your own way. My focus is to help you build radical self-acceptance alongside relentless resilience, because no matter what life throws at you, you will always be enough to adapt, overcome, and take the next step forward.

My approach to therapy

Therapy with me is active, conversational, and tailored to how your mind works best. I don't sit back silently nodding while you carry the entire conversation; we roll up our sleeves and work through things together.

My primary approach is solution-focused. That means we concentrate on identifying your existing strengths and unsticking specific friction points rather than staying trapped in the problem. We focus on practical momentum—breaking overwhelming obstacles into small, manageable experiments you can test between sessions.

Alongside this practical framework, I integrate trauma-informed and cognitive tools to help you unpack and grow beyond old narratives that no longer serve you. You can expect our time to be collaborative, direct, and focused on helping you reclaim autonomy and peace of mind.

What you can expect from me

First sessions can feel intimidating, so my priority is simply creating a low-pressure, comfortable space where you can take a breath and speak freely. We’ll skip the stiff clinical interrogation; instead, we’ll treat our first meeting as an open conversation to get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit.

We will map out what brought you to therapy, look at what’s currently causing the most friction in your life, and clarify what relief actually looks like for you. Rather than handing down rigid expectations, we will collaborate on realistic, plain-English goals so you always know exactly what we’re aiming for.

My goal is for you to walk away from our first hour feeling heard, understood, and with a clear sense of what our next steps will look like—without any pressure or judgment.
