Great to meet you!

I am a listener. It is a craft I have been honing since the age of 15, learning to understand children through play, movement, and art, while supporting families and couples through deep relationship-building and communication. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people through both their highest peaks and darkest valleys.

These skills aren't just professional; they are personal. They have anchored my 20-year marriage, helped raise three fantastic children, and guided my own journey of healing from past trauma. My educational foundation includes a Master’s degree in Ministry and Counseling from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary and a Master’s of Social Science in Program Evaluation from Michigan State. I also bring this lifetime of experience to my role as a Chaplain in the Michigan Army National Guard, where I have proudly served for over 20 years.

My approach to therapy

What I love about therapy is walking alongside families, adults, and kids for a little while to support them in their journey. I love to pair creativity with evidence-based approaches to find solutions that leverage personal strengths. If you are a Christian or curious, I enjoy adding my experience as a chaplain to the journey to explore themes of spirituality, but only at the pace and invitation of my clients.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, expect to have fun! Expect me to be curious about who you are and driven to see you as a unique individual in a unique situation. As you leave our first session, my goal is for you to feel safe and to know that I can be trusted to walk with you on your journey of change.
