Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Juancarlos, a licensed therapist who helps people reconnect with their stories, strengths, and sense of direction.

I work with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, identity exploration, and life transitions, especially those from marginalized or underrepresented communities who are carrying both personal and systemic stress.

My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in narrative therapy and a culturally responsive approach that considers how your experiences, relationships, and broader systems have shaped your story. Together, we’ll explore how your experiences, relationships, and cultural context have shaped the way you see yourself and the world. From there, we’ll begin to separate you from the problems you’re facing and reconnect you with the values, strengths, and meanings that matter most to you.

In our work, I’ll listen closely, check in often, and help you make sense of what you’re going through without judgment. Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you, it’s about helping you reclaim authorship of your life and move toward change in a way that feels aligned and sustainable.

I believe healing happens through connection, honesty, and honoring the wisdom you already carry and I’ll walk alongside you as you begin to access it more fully.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in narrative therapy. I believe the stories we carry about ourselves, our relationships, and the world shape how we live and how we heal.

In our work together, we’ll explore how those stories were formed, which ones may no longer be serving you, and what new directions feel more aligned with who you are and who you want to become. I’ll help you make sense of patterns in your life, create space between you and the challenges you’re facing, and reconnect with your values, strengths, and sense of purpose.

I also bring a relational and culturally aware lens to our work, recognizing that your experiences don’t exist in a vacuum, they’re shaped by your relationships, your background, and the environments you’ve moved through. Therapy with me is a space where your full story is welcomed and taken seriously.

Throughout the process, I’ll listen closely, check in often, and move at a pace that feels right for you. This is a collaborative space where your voice matters, and where change can happen in a way that feels meaningful and sustainable.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a space that is welcoming, affirming, and collaborative. We’ll start by getting to know each other, what’s bringing you in, what you’ve been carrying, and what you’re hoping might feel different in your life.

I’ll ask thoughtful questions to understand your experiences, your relationships, and any patterns you’ve noticed, while also checking in to make sure, I’m understanding you accurately. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out or to share more than you’re ready for, we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Together, we’ll begin to make sense of what you’re going through and identify what matters most to you moving forward. By the end of the session, many clients leave with a bit more clarity, a sense of direction, and the feeling that they don’t have to carry things alone anymore.

My role isn’t to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you as you make meaning, navigate change, and begin shaping a life that feels more aligned with who you are.
