Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Dr. Juliana A. Nwakamma, DNP, and I am the founder and clinical provider at Prosper Health and Behavioral Care Services. I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice with advanced training and experience in mental and behavioral health care. My approach to treatment is holistic, compassionate, and patient-centered addressing not only symptoms, but the whole person: mind, body, and life circumstances.

I bring both clinical expertise and genuine empathy into my work. I understand that seeking mental health care can feel overwhelming, and I strive to create a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and supported.

My professional background includes extensive experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health conditions across the lifespan. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related conditions, mood disorders, stress-related challenges, and life transitions. I also have a strong interest in supporting women, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and individuals navigating cultural, family, or identity related stressors.

At Prosper Health and Behavioral Care Services, treatment plans are personalized and collaborative. I integrate evidence-based practices with therapeutic listening, education, and where appropriate, medication management. I also emphasize wellness, resilience, and long-term stability not just short-term relief.

Above all, I believe healing is possible. My goal is to walk alongside you on your journey, helping you build insight, strength, and balance so you can live a healthier, more fulfilled life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is holistic, patient-centered, and collaborative. I believe every client’s story is unique, and effective treatment begins with listening without judgment and with genuine compassion. I work closely with clients to understand not only their symptoms, but also their life experiences, cultural background, stressors, strengths, and goals.

I use evidence-based practices to guide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, while tailoring care to meet each individual’s needs. When appropriate, I integrate medication management, psychotherapy-informed interventions, education, and lifestyle support to promote long-term stability and overall well-being.

I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, stress, and life transitions, with particular sensitivity to the needs of women, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and individuals facing cultural or family-related challenges. I emphasize empowerment, helping clients build insight, coping skills, and confidence in managing their mental health.

Throughout treatment, I view the client as an active partner in care. Goals are developed together, progress is regularly reviewed, and adjustments are made thoughtfully and transparently. My style is supportive yet structured, offering both encouragement and clinical guidance.

At Prosper Health and Behavioral Care Services, my focus is not just on symptom relief, but on healing, resilience, and sustainable wellness. I am committed to creating a safe, respectful space where clients feel supported as they work toward balance, clarity, and improved quality of life.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect a welcoming, respectful, and non-judgmental environment where your comfort and privacy are a priority. The initial visit is a time for us to get to know each other and begin building a therapeutic partnership.

We will discuss your current concerns, symptoms, personal history, and goals for treatment at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you. I will listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and help clarify what may be contributing to the challenges you are experiencing. There is no pressure to share more than you are ready to at any point.

Together, we will begin to identify goals for care such as symptom relief, improved coping skills, emotional stability, better sleep, or enhanced daily functioning. When appropriate, we will also review treatment options, which may include therapy-informed strategies, education, lifestyle recommendations, and/or medication management.

My goal for the first session is to ensure that you leave feeling heard, supported, and informed, with a clearer understanding of next steps. You should also feel confident that you are in a safe space where your experiences are respected and your well-being is taken seriously.

Above all, the first session is about creating trust and clarity laying the foundation for healing, growth, and long-term wellness.
