Great to meet you!

I've spent over 25 years working in human services — long before I became a licensed counselor. That experience shaped how I work with people: I'm not just treating a diagnosis, I'm working with a whole person who has a history, a context, and strengths they may not fully see yet. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, maternal mental health, and the weight that builds up when life stops feeling manageable. I work primarily with adults, with a particular focus on women and BIPOC clients who are looking for a therapist who understands the cultural layers that clinical training alone doesn't cover. I'm a Black woman, and that lived experience is part of how I show up.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded in your strengths first. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify and shift the thought patterns that keep you stuck, and Motivational Interviewing when you know something needs to change but haven't been able to make it happen yet. I'm solution-oriented — I want us to build something concrete together, not just talk about problems. My style is direct and warm. I'll be honest with you, I'll meet you where you are, and I'll work with you — not at you.

What you can expect from me

Come as you are. There's no right way to show up to a first session. We'll talk about what's been going on, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping to feel or do differently on the other side. I'll ask questions to understand not just the issue, but your full picture. By the end, you'll know whether this feels like a good fit — and we'll have a clear direction forward. I offer virtual sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and weekends throughout North Carolina.
