Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Kala, and I’m so glad you’re here. I work with children, teens, adults, and families to help them better understand their emotions, improve communication, and manage challenges like anger, stress, and relationship conflict. I focus on teaching real, practical skills in areas like emotional regulation, coping strategies, healthy boundaries, and effective communication that you can use in everyday life. My approach is supportive, structured, and goal-focused — and I believe therapy can be meaningful and productive.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, direct, and structured. I create a space where clients feel safe to be honest, while also gently challenging patterns that may be keeping them stuck. I believe in being goal-focused and collaborative, so we work together to identify clear goals and build practical skills that can be used outside of session.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect their first session with me to feel welcoming, structured, and focused on getting to know you — not just the problem that brought you in. We’ll talk about what’s been going on, what you’d like to see change, and what feels most important to work on right now. I’ll ask questions to better understand your strengths, stressors, and patterns, while making sure you feel heard and comfortable.

Together, we’ll begin identifying clear, realistic goals and outline what progress might look like. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling understood, supported, and with a clearer sense of direction for the work ahead.
