Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Kam, a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Wilmington University. I primarily work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety and mood concerns, life transitions, identity exploration, trauma, boundaries, and self-worth. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused strategies. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can better understand themselves, build practical coping skills, and move toward a life that feels more balanced and aligned with their values.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in genuine connection. I value creating a space where clients can talk openly, laugh, vent, and explore difficult experiences without judgment, while maintaining the professional boundaries and structure that support a safe therapeutic relationship. I meet clients where they are and take time to understand their experiences, perspectives, and goals rather than making assumptions about what they need. My goal is for therapy to feel both supportive and purposeful—a space where you can be fully yourself while also having a therapist who can provide guidance, perspective, and clinical expertise when it is helpful.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, I focus on getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and creating a comfortable foundation for our work together. You don’t have to be certain that your experiences are “big enough” for therapy or have everything figured out before we begin. We’ll talk about your current concerns, relevant background, and what you hope to get from therapy, while also making space for you to ask questions and get a sense of whether we’re a good fit. Together, we’ll identify meaningful goals and determine what support makes sense for you. My hope is that you leave the first session feeling heard, respected, and with a clearer sense of where we can begin.
