Great to meet you!

Oh, hey! I’m Kara—a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. I completed my Bachelors of Science program at Texas Tech University in 2016; completed my Master of Social work program at Baylor University in 2021. I have experience working with incarcerated folks within the Bureau of Prisons system at halfway houses, folks fighting addiction within inpatient rehab, and outpatient folks continuing their healing journeys through anxiety, depression, and trauma.

My approach to therapy

I do my best to incorporate empathy, transparency, and humor into our sessions together and truly take my time to establish positive rapport with you. Trauma leaves us feeling stuck, and I believe that focusing on evidence-based practices such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family System (IFS) therapies can effectively achieve healing.

What you can expect from me

It’s important to me that you feel seen, heard, and valued as we work toward your healing. Whether we’re exploring challenges or celebrating victories, I’m here to foster your growth and healing. From our sessions together, you can expect to leave feeling the empowered and safe to be your authentic self.
