Great to meet you!

Hello - you have come to me with a personal concern and I appreciate the trust that you place in me. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, I believe in making mental health a priority and so, I applaud you in taking the difficult first steps! I have been practicing for 19 years in various settings and with various populations. I hold a Master of Arts/Education Specialist in Mental Health Counseling from Gardner-Webb University as of May 2006. My treatment areas include parenting and family relationships, mood disorders, grief and loss issues, and the integration of faith and psychology.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is to provide skilled, professional counseling and psychotherapy that respects your right to self-determination. I will work with you to set realistic goals, develop a clear plan for helping you reach your goals, and work with you to help you meet those goals. I work from a cognitive-behavioral approach as well as solution-focused lens.

What you can expect from me

The first session is always an assessment session, where you’ll have the opportunity to share your story and what you hope to achieve in therapy, and to ensure that your needs are within my scope of practice. I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment that allows you to feel comfortable sharing and being vulnerable, while also feeling secure. From there, we’ll work together in the sessions that follow to make your goals a reality for you.
