Great to meet you!

Karen Miller, LCSW-S, LICSW, BCD is a licensed clinical social worker-supervisor and board-certified diplomate with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and groups through life’s challenges. She holds both a Bachelor and Master of Social Work from Texas A&M University–Commerce and is currently a doctoral candidate at Tulane University’s School of Social Work.

Karen’s work is grounded in evidence-based practice and informed by culturally responsive and trauma-informed frameworks. She partners with clients to build insight, strengthen resilience, and move toward greater emotional balance and well-being.

Beyond the therapy room, Karen is an educator, trainer, and the founder of The Therapy Jar®, a mental wellness tool designed to foster self-awareness, emotional reflection, and intentional self-care.

My approach to therapy

In practice Karen integrates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Attachment Based Therapy. She specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, mild depression, burnout, life transitions, and relationship concerns. Her work is also deeply informed by culturally responsive care, supporting clients from diverse backgrounds and identities.

Karen believe you are the expert on your own life, and her role is to help you uncover the patterns, strengths, and resources that will move you toward the change you want. Clients often share that her style is both practical and compassionate. She believe in giving you tools you can use right away while also creating a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore deeper patterns. Whether we’re untangling stressful thoughts, strengthening your relationships, or building coping strategies.

Tailoring each session to your unique needs and goals, honoring how your lived experiences, identity, and environment shape your mental health. Karen listens deeply and with compassion, while also offering gentle challenges when needed to help you break old cycles and step into new possibilities.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect a welcoming, non judgmental space where your experiences are heard and validated. You’ll gain coping strategies tailored to your needs, greater emotional awareness, and skills for managing stress, improving relationships, and navigating life’s challenges.

Over time, many clients find they develop more self-confidence, a stronger sense of balance, and the ability to respond to difficulties with greater clarity and calm.

My goal is that you not only feel supported in session but also feel equipped to carry what we discuss into your daily life so progress continues long after our time together.
