Karen Reeder is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Supervisor. Karen was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, and attended both undergraduate and graduate school at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Karen has experience and expertise working with all age groups from 3 years to older adults including serving adolescents with significant mental health needs and concerns.

My approach to therapy

She uses a variety of theories including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. Karen is a fabulous couples therapist and can support family therapy challenges as well. She is currently accepting new client appointments.

What you can expect from me

Karen has also received a significant amount of post-graduate training on dual diagnosis treatment, motivational interviewing, clinical supervision, play therapy, trauma-informed care, and professional leadership development. She is a Certified Family Life Educator and Board-Certified Tele Mental Health Provider (BC-TMHP). Karen is licensed in North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia and can provide counseling to anyone in those states.
