Great to meet you!

Howdy! My name is Karly Trotter, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. My practice helps pre- and postpartum parents, persons with OCD and anxiety, and neurodivergent folks handle feelings of stress, executive dysfunction, intrusive thinking, and self-doubt.

Personally and professionally, I've seen how therapy can deeply change experiences of suffering. I warmly encourage you to give therapy a chance, join my women's group, or take advantage of my free yoga or meditation classes if you have financial constraints.

My approach to therapy

I have a curious, insight-oriented approach that can help you process your experiences so you can move forward in meaningful way. I'll help you identify the current patterns that keep you feeling stuck, and I'll walk you through how to mindfully accept and tolerate the painful emotions that you want to avoid or intellectualize. When helpful, I'll offer insights from my training—drawing on various perspectives, theories, and tools—to explore new ways of understanding and relating to pain, stress, and trauma.

What you can expect from me

In a world so full of distractions, I want therapy to feel like a space for you to pause and honestly self-reflect. I've been known to let out a genuine laugh at your jokes, remember specific details you share to reference later, and offer as much (or little) back-and-forth dialogue as you’d like. I welcome feedback and will regularly inquire about your experience in therapy to ensure you are moving towards your goals and feel safe in our therapeutic relationship.
