Great to meet you!

I'm Kate — a licensed therapist with 25 years of experience helping people navigate some of life's most difficult chapters. I work with adults, teens, seniors, and children across North Carolina via telehealth. My style is direct and real — I use humor when it helps, I'll tell you what I notice, and I genuinely care about your progress. I'm not here to hand you a workbook and send you on your way. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, PTSD, chronic stress, and relationship challenges, and I bring methods like Gottman, IFS, CPT, ACT, and CBT to each session based on what actually fits you.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative — I think the best therapy happens when we figure things out together rather than me handing you a diagnosis and a plan. I draw on a wide toolkit: Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma, the Gottman Method for couples and families, Internal Family Systems when we need to understand deeper patterns, and ACT or CBT when we're working on anxiety, depression, or behaviors that aren't serving you anymore. I'm also trained in Seeking Safety for clients navigating trauma and substance use. I meet you where you are and adjust as we go.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I'll do a lot of listening — I want to understand your situation, what's brought you here, and what you actually want to get out of therapy. I'll ask questions (some of them might surprise you), and we'll start to map out what makes sense for your goals. There's no pressure to have it all figured out before we meet. Some people leave that first session feeling lighter just because they've finally said what they've been carrying. I'll make sure you leave with a clear sense of what we're working toward together.
