Great to meet you!

Hi I'm Kate! I'm a licensed counselor and I specialize in working with clients with ADHD and/or trauma. As a person with ADHD I understand the unique struggle of feeling like you are working against your brain to get things done. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology from West Virginia University, and my master's degree is in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology at Washington DC.

My approach to therapy

I think it's often helpful to focus on what's happening right now, day to day, first then move into the deeper roots or causes. It's like digging a hole in the sand, you can do it, but a lot of sand is going to fall in while you're working. If we can build in some tools or skills to help keep that sand in place we can dig more effectively.

I am training in EMDR therapy and have received additional training in helping clients with ADHD.

What you can expect from me

My goal is to provide a safe space for you to explore whatever you might need and build the skills that will help you to move forward.

Every person's goals will be different, based on their needs. Some of the areas I commonly help people with are: coping and emotional regulation skills, organizational skills, processing trauma, and communication and expression skills.
