Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Kateri Ross, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, and my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Health Psychology from Santa Clara University.

My clinical background includes work in both community mental health and private practice settings, where I have helped individuals manage acute challenges as well as long-standing emotional and behavioral patterns that impact daily functioning and overall well-being.

I specialize in working with adults ages 18 and older experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, postpartum depression and anxiety, binge eating, perfectionism, procrastination, stress management, and life transitions. I also support individuals who struggle with self-critical thinking, guilt, shame, emotional overwhelm, managing stress or difficulty maintaining balance during demanding phases of life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and goal-oriented. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building insight, increase self-confidence, develop practical tools, and achievable goals that support long-term emotional wellness and daily functioning. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel, heard, valued, supported, understood, empowered, and actively involved in their growth and healing process.

What you can expect from me

My practice is grounded in a client-centered philosophy that emphasizes empathy, collaboration, and authenticity. I believe meaningful change develops within a therapeutic relationship built on trust, compassion, and mutual understanding. While I incorporate an active and directive style when clinically appropriate, I provide thoughtful feedback, engaged listening, and practical guidance to support emotional healing, personal growth, and lasting change.
