My name is Katherine Alvarez. I'm a bilingual (Spanish) licensed clinical social worker licensed in various states (FL, SC, NV, VA, AL & MI). For the last 20 years, I have been committed to helping individuals, couples, and families put life’s pieces together. Utilizing a unique therapeutic style, I maximize each individual’s strengths and center therapy on helping clients reach their goals.
My style is both supportive and direct. I provide a safe, structured environment while also gently challenging unhelpful patterns. Whether navigating crisis, long-standing trauma, or life transitions, my goal is to empower clients with clarity, practical tools, and lasting growth. My work integrates modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based interventions, solution-focused strategies, and psychodynamic exploration when appropriate. I tailor interventions to each client’s developmental stage, cultural background, and clinical needs.
Our first session is about me meeting you where you are. Initially I gain understanding on what has lead you to therapy. I clarify concerns, establish goals, and create an individualized treatment plan.
