Kathleen Hittner - McConahy

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Oregon and Washington. I received a bachelor's degree in psychology followed by a master's in counseling psychology from Holy Names University. I provide individual therapy, family therapy and equine assisted psychotherapy and offer appointments in person or virtually. I love working with clients and welcome people of all backgrounds. I am able to meet with individual adults, and adolescents. I do not offer couples counseling at this time.

I offer a collaborative approach to working with others and believe in the importance of gaining an understanding of one’s emotional history and helping to align behaviors and values. I understand that counseling is a process for most people and I am deeply dedicated to ensuring an experience of kindness, compassion, positive regard and professionalism.

I use a variety of evidences based practices including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Structural and Strategic Family Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy and motivational Interviewing. I think that is essential that each client experiences a supportive compassionate approach where they are able to safely explore experiences, deepen insights and gain skills that support mental health and overall well being.
