Great to meet you!
I offer client-centered, strengths-based, solution-focused counseling. I work with parents of children with special needs, individuals in substance use recovery, those managing co-parenting after divorce, the LGBTQ+ community and their allies, people living with chronic pain, and trauma survivors.
My focus
I work with individuals and couples of all ages. While I specialize in serving the LGBTQ+ community, I'm also comfortable working with cisgender heterosexual and asexual clients. I'm experienced with depression, anxiety, PTSD, Alcohol Use Disorder, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder.
My communication style
Flexibility guides my work. Clients describe me as caring, creative, engaged, and resourceful. I strive to be culturally humble, always learning something new from every person I serve.
My journey to mental healthcare
Social work values align deeply with my personal outlook. I believe in the inherent worth and dignity of all people and the importance of healthy, authentic relationships. I prioritize integrity and competency while honoring the cultural nuances that make our communities unique. It's a privilege to be trusted with this work. Studying at University of IL and then University of KS for BS and MSW degrees, respectively, provided a top-notch educational foundation, completing my schooling in 1999.
My goals for you
We start with your chief concern, then I ask you to envision life if things were better—if problems had magically disappeared and you woke up with everything sorted out. We use these impressions to set meaningful goals and objectives together.
