Great to meet you!

I earned my MSW from UNC-Chapel-Hill in 2010. Before entering the private practice world in 2021, I provided group and individual therapy at a community mental health agency for four years. Prior to this, I was a hospice social worker for seven years.

I am skilled in working with clients who want to overcome negative self-talk, emotion dysregulation, a history of trauma or invalidation, and unhelpful interpersonal patterns. I have significant experience working with LGBTQ+ folx as well.

In addition to being in-network with Aetna and Cigna via Headway, I am also in-network with United Healthcare/Optum and BCBS via my private practice (please contact me directly for more information).

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, genuine, and non-pathologizing. I utilize evidence-based practices, including DBT, ACT and IFS-informed interventions with an emphasis on a trusting therapeutic relationship. I encourage people to exercise their agency and to recognize the impact external factors have on mental health, including structural inequity. LGBTQ+ affirming and culturally competent.

What you can expect from me

I help clients move toward their values without being bogged down by emotion dysregulation or unhelpful thinking patterns. I provide a new perspective, encouraging mindfulness, acceptance, and self-compassion. I hold a safe space where clients learn skills to move through emotional pain.
