Great to meet you!

I’m an LCSW with a PhD whose path to becoming a therapist began during my career at Intel. During this period, I engaged in volunteer activities, and my desire to be the person I wanted my son to be lead me to engage in therapy and personal growth workshops. These experiences led me to change careers when my son graduated from high school; I left Intel and pursued a Masters in Social Work. However, the content covered did not address behaviors that defeated my marriage. I remained curious about this, which resulted in my pursing a Ph.D. This provided me with the knowledge to better understand and study why people react (then behave) as they do – which supported me in developing strategies that have assisted others in change.

My passion is working with someone in a relationship experiencing arguments that escalate. I also enjoy working with adults and older teens who are experiencing anxiety, trauma/PTSD, relationship conflict, overwhelming stress, or engage in behaviors that are not aligned with their values. My style is collaborative problem solving – utilizing tools and knowledge. I bring research, experience, and practical strategies; you bring the goals. Together, we identify and refine what works for you as you begin working on change in your everyday life.

My approach to therapy

My passion is working with someone who is engageing in behaviors that are not aligned with their values. This might be in a relationship experiencing arguments that escalate. I also enjoy working with adults and older teens who are experiencing barriers to experiencing the life they want. These barriers can include: panic attacks/anxiety, adversity/PTSD, relationship conflict, overwhelming stress,

My style is collaborative problem solving – utilizing tools and knowledge. I bring research, experience, and practical strategies; you bring the goals. Together, we identify and refine what works for you as you begin working on change in your everyday life.

There are three distinct phases: Phase 1: We meet weekly for psychoeducation and practical tools. You decide what strategies you want to implement. Phase 2: We meet biweekly as you practice; we refine, rework, and add strategies. Phase 3: monthly sessions as you continue to work independently towards meaningful results. The timeline is typically eight months. Techniques are a blend of CBT, Brain-emotion-behavior, and mindfulness.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll clarify what you want to be different and what results would make therapy worth your time and money.
