Great to meet you!

I understand you've taken a HUGE step in looking for a therapist. I remember when I went to therapy myself, and my positive experience convinced me to become a psychologist. I earned my PhD in clinical psychology from University of Florida, with a residency at Duke University. The majority of my clinical work has been in weight management, which involved helping people examine issues like depression, anxiety, boredom, relationship struggles that sometimes lie beneath the surface.

My approach to therapy

If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got. When we are struggling, it can be hard to see our own choices, behaviors, and actions clearly. You are the expert on YOU, and through directive (and sometimes difficult) questions from me, we will partner together to help you take baby steps to move forward. I look at setbacks and challenges as extremely helpful pieces of data so that we can continue to "course correct" as you incorporate new patterns

What you can expect from me

I can't promise that you'll leave every session feeling like you have all the answers, but I can guarantee that - if you stick with it - you will slowly start to realize that life feels less heavy. It can be an incredible relief to know that you have someone in your corner. I would be honored to be that person.
