Great to meet you!

Living with bipolar disorder, psychosis, BPD, or trauma can feel isolating, especially if you’ve felt misunderstood or misdiagnosed before. That’s exactly who I work with. I’m an LCPC, LPC with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Washington Adventist University and over 10 years of experience in mental health, including published research on bipolar disorder and depression.

In our work together, you’ll get treatment built for what you’re actually facing, including FFT and IPSRT for bipolar disorder, CBTp for psychosis, DBT for BPD, and EMDR for trauma. Sessions are collaborative, honest, and judgment-free.

I see teens, adults, older adults, and families by telehealth in Maryland, and I accept most major insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare. Reach out anytime. I’d be glad to hear your story.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in research. I start by understanding you: your history, your symptoms, and what you want your life to look like. From there, we choose treatments proven to help with what you’re facing, such as FFT and IPSRT for bipolar disorder, CBTp for psychosis, DBT for BPD, and EMDR for trauma.

I believe understanding your diagnosis is powerful, so I’ll help you learn your patterns, recognize early warning signs, and build skills that protect your stability. Sessions are honest and judgment-free, and humor is always welcome. You set the goals, and we work toward them together at a pace that feels right for you.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance to get to know each other. I’ll ask about what brings you in, your history, and what you’d like to change, and you’re welcome to share as much or as little as feels comfortable. I’ll also explain how I work, answer your questions, and go over confidentiality.

By the end, we’ll have a starting picture of your goals and a sense of whether we’re a good fit. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out. Many people feel nervous before a first session, and that’s completely normal. My job is to make it feel safe and manageable from the start.
