Great to meet you!

Maybe you're carrying something you've never said out loud. Maybe you look fine from the outside and feel worn down underneath it. Either way, you don't need to arrive with the right words or an explanation.

I'm a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience. I work with people living with trauma and PTSD, including the aftermath of crime and moments of real crisis. A lot of my work also deals with the weight people carry from what the world expects of them: the pressures that come with being a woman or a man, the small daily slights, discrimination, and inequality that add up over the years.

Outside of session you'll usually find me running, on a yoga mat, or watching basketball. I'm convinced cooking and gardening count as therapy too.

My approach to therapy

You'll feel supported while we do hard work. What I want for you is relief and some real peace.

We'll start by noticing the thoughts driving how you feel, drawing on cognitive behavioral therapy and rational emotive behavior therapy. When there's something specific you want to change, we'll get practical about it. And I'll keep your strengths in view, not just what hurts, because you're more than the reason you came in. Mostly, I shape the work around what you need.

What you can expect from me

The first session is mostly a conversation. I'll ask what brought you here and what you're hoping will be different. I'll want to hear some of your history, but you set the pace on what you share and when. There's nothing to prepare and no way to do this wrong.
