Great to meet you!

Great to meet you! My name is Kayla Loving, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing virtual therapy for adults.

I specialize in working with adults who may look like they have it all together on the outside, but feel overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally drained, or disconnected on the inside. I primarily work with anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, life transitions, boundaries, and difficulty prioritizing your own needs.

My approach is collaborative, relaxed, and individualized. I’m naturally introverted and reserved, and one of my strengths is being a genuine listener. I believe you know yourself better than anyone, so I don’t believe therapy should be about me telling you what to do. Instead, we’ll work together to understand what you’re experiencing, explore what you need, and find realistic strategies that fit your life.

In our first few sessions, we’ll get to know each other, talk about what brought you to therapy, and explore your goals. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. We’ll take things at a comfortable pace and build from there.

My style is laid-back but professional. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can exhale, be yourself, and talk openly without judgment. I’m passionate about helping people reconnect with themselves, set healthy boundaries, protect their energy, and make space for their own needs.

Outside of therapy, I love traveling, trying great food, spending time with my fur babies, reading, dancing, and watching comfort movies and shows.

If you’re looking for a therapist with a soft, understanding presence who will truly listen and meet you where you are, I’d be honored to work with you.

My approach to therapy

I don’t believe therapy should feel scripted, and I don’t expect every client to need the same thing from me. We’ll start with what is happening in your life right now and adjust our work based on your needs, goals, and preferences. Anxiety, depression, and chronic stress may be the concerns that initially bring you to therapy, while trauma and identity concerns can sometimes add another layer to what you are carrying. We’ll explore those connections without losing sight of what matters most to you. I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you recognize patterns in your thoughts and behaviors, Motivational Interviewing to explore change at your own pace, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to identify achievable next steps, and Strength-Based approaches to recognize abilities and resources you may be overlooking. Sessions can include processing difficult experiences, strengthening boundaries and self-care, developing coping strategies, and identifying practical ways to support your mental health between appointments.

What you can expect from me

Before we decide what needs to change, I want to understand what you need from therapy and from the person sitting across from you. Our first conversations will focus on where you are in this season of life, what brought you to therapy, what has or has not worked for you before, and what would help you feel safe and supported in our work together. I’ll also want to understand your preferences so we can make sure our relationship feels like a good fit. From there, we’ll establish goals together and identify practical steps toward them. You can expect warmth, engagement, and questions that help me understand you as a whole person rather than simply a diagnosis or set of symptoms. Progress might mean managing anxiety more effectively, feeling more engaged with life during depression, responding to stress without becoming overwhelmed, establishing healthier boundaries, strengthening your self care, or feeling more secure in who you are. When you’re ready, you can use Headway to review your insurance information and schedule a first session.
