Great to meet you!

As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina, I have dedicated my career to helping individuals step out of survival mode and reclaim their lives. My clinical background spans working with children, adolescents, and adults facing complex stress and trauma. Over time, my focus has naturally solidified into mind-body healing, specifically looking at how we can blend traditional talk therapy with body-based somatic work to calm the system.

What I want you to know most about me is how much I value transparency, collaboration, and continuous learning. I don't believe therapy should be mysterious or rigid. I will always be open with you about our therapeutic path, we will work as a unified team, and I am constantly learning new ways to better support your unique journey. I am deeply invested in your growth and look forward to helping you discover your own internal resilience.

My approach to therapy

I practice an active, participatory style of therapy—you are the expert on your life story, and I am your collaborative partner.

Here is what you can expect from my approach:

  • Empowering Psychoeducation: I help you understand the 'why' behind your symptoms, providing a clear map of how trauma and chronic stress impact your brain and nervous system.
  • Mind-Body Integration: Our core work blends the practical thought-reframing of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with the physical grounding techniques of Somatic Experiencing.
  • Flexible Frameworks: Your journey is uniquely yours. While CBT and somatic work are my primary toolkits, I actively draw from other evidence-based modalities whenever your specific goals or circumstances warrant a different approach.

Together, we will build a customized, sustainable toolkit to help you regain your calm and find your joy again.

What you can expect from me

First sessions can naturally bring up a little anxiety, so our time together is all about building safety, connection, and a shared roadmap. We will start by reviewing your intake paperwork and addressing any immediate questions you have about therapy. From there, I will invite you to share what has been causing you the most overwhelm lately, going entirely at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Because my style is participatory, this will feel like a conversation rather than a one-sided interview. We will collaboratively explore your current goals and begin some light psychoeducation so you can understand what is happening in your mind and nervous system. You will walk away from our very first hour with a clear sense of how we will work together, a preliminary plan tailored to your needs, and a predictable path forward.ffff
