Hi, I’m Kelly Harris, a licensed therapist serving clients in North Carolina and Washington. I work with older teens and adults who are navigating the lasting impact of trauma, chronic stress, and difficult life experiences. Many of the people I work with are holding it together on the outside while carrying a heavy load beneath the surface. They're ready to do the work to feel more connected, in control, and fully seen.
My style is warm, down-to-earth, and genuine. I am direct, validating, and like to get to know you as a whole person. My goal is for you to feel so comfortable that you can be completely unfiltered and that you can identify tangible ways in which therapy is helpful after a period of time. I believe therapy works best when it’s real—when you don’t have to edit yourself or tiptoe around what’s really going on. I’m here to create a space where you feel safe to explore, supported in your growth, and empowered to make lasting change.
My approach blends several evidence-based modalities—including DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), and IFS (Internal Family Systems). These tools allow us to work holistically, addressing what’s happening in four key areas of your life:
In our work together, I’ll show up as a real person—someone who listens deeply, offers honest reflections, and helps you make sense of what you’re experiencing. This isn’t cookie-cutter therapy. It’s collaborative, responsive, and tailored to who you are.
You can expect sessions that are grounded, honest, and focused on helping you move forward. In the first session, I will learn as much as I can about you, your goals, background, culture, experiences, support system, and, in typical therapy fashion, your childhood. My goal is for you to walk away from therapy feeling more clear, more capable, and more connected to yourself. My goal is for you to feel seen, understood, and hopeful.
This is a space where you can:
Therapy doesn’t have to feel clinical or impersonal. It can be real, supportive, and transformative—and you don’t have to do it alone.
