Great to meet you!

I have been in the counseling field for over 10 years. For the past 11 years, I have gained professional experience working with Veterans Affairs in Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention, and for the past 5 years, I have also been a practicing clinician in part-time private practice. I received my Master of Arts degree in Community Mental Health Counseling from the Warner Graduate School for Education and Human Development at the University of Rochester (NY).

Since graduating, I have become licensed in the state of Georgia as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and in North Carolina, as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). I am a Board Certified-TeleMental Health (BC-TMH) provider, and hold certifications for Clinical Military Counseling Certification (CMCC), Certified Grief Informed Provider (CGP), and certified in Disaster Mental Health Counseling (DMHC).

My approach to therapy

The population I service includes adults, 18-50 years old, who need individual counseling to help them process and cope with their everyday lives due to struggles they have faced throughout their lives. Specific populations served include Veteran and Military, LGBTQIA+, and those experiencing all levels of grief. My experience includes individual and group therapy sessions, substance use, trauma, complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (cPTSD), grief and loss, and co-morbid diagnoses.

The approaches I use most often center on Existential and Humanistic therapies while integrating Cognitive Behavior and Dialectical Behavior Therapies to best serve individual needs. These approaches and theories are selected singularly or in combination to best serve the individual needs of my clients based on peer-reviewed, empirical research.

What you can expect from me
