Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) who comes to the counseling field after two decades working in library science and higher education. I earned my MS in clinical rehabilitation counseling at UMass Boston, and my clinical experience includes work with both adults and youth with a wide range of diagnoses, functional challenges, and backgrounds. Previously, I as a library consultant and trainder, an academic reference and information literacy librarian, and a career resource librarian. I have an MS in library and information science from Simmons University.

My approach to therapy

I specialize in helping people navigate change, from transitioning successfully to independent living, to developing or reframing a career, to thriving in midlife through menopause and retirement. As a gender nonconforming queer woman, I am particularly interested in working with folks from these communities. I am also a cancer survivor with an interest in helping others manage life with chronic or serious illness.

I help you identify and reflect on personal values as a foundation for exploring identity, meaning, and purpose and fostering personal wellness through self-compassion, integrity, and advocacy for self and others. My approach is eclectic, drawing from narrative, existential, and feminist therapy, as well as CBT, mindfulness, and skills-based modalities.

What you can expect from me

I view the role of the therapist as a partner or facilitator to help you access your unique power as the expert and author of your own experience. In the first session, I will focus on getting to know you and learning more about your challenges and strengths so that we can develop a treatment plan to help you reach your goals. Please reach out for a free consultation if you think we'd be a good fit!
