Great to meet you!

Life has taught me so much. After the school of hard knocks I decided to go to a real college and found that I was not only bright but I had a real talent for helping people. I completed my Ph.D. in clinical psychology specializing in neuropsychological assessments. I was lucky enough to complete a residency at the A. I Dupont Children's hospital. I have also worked with crises units, residential teen facilities, developmental clinics and the division of prevention and behavioral health through the state. I opened my own private practice in January 1999 where i specialized in therapy for children, teens and adults. Now after retiring with 20 years from the state, I am more relaxed and less pressured. I take my time with people, listen to their needs and work with them to help find solutions.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy depends on the reason for referral. For the most part, I am solution-oriented, however, I recognize that some clients are struggling with grief, abuse or trauma that may not have a simple solution. Thus, my approach may be a mixture of styles.

What you can expect from me

On the first session, I like to get to know the client and their perspective of why they feel they need therapy and what it can do for them. At times, that may entail an in depth review of the family dynamics and at other times it may just be a relaxing talk about their needs, fears, hopes, and disappointments.
