Great to meet you!

I believe that people do their best healing when they feel safe, understood, and genuinely supported. I bring warmth, curiosity, and a sense of humor to my work, while also being honest and practical when that is what a client needs. I don't believe there is a single right way to do therapy, and I don't expect clients to fit into a particular box.

After more than 25 years working in education, mental health, and with children, adolescents, and families, I have had the opportunity to see people through many different stages of life and many different challenges. That experience has taught me to look beyond a behavior or a symptom and try to understand the person and the story behind it.

As an LCMHC, I now bring that experience into my private practice with a focus on creating a genuine partnership with each client. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, life changes, relationships, parenting, school stress, ADHD, self-esteem, or simply feeling stuck, you don't have to figure it all out on your own.

Most importantly, I want you to feel like you can come as you are. You don't need to have the right words, a clear diagnosis, or a perfectly defined goal. We can start where you are, figure things out together, and take the next step from there.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and individualized. I believe therapy is a partnership, not a one-size-fits-all process. I want clients to feel comfortable being honest, asking questions, and showing up as themselves without fear of judgment.

I draw from CBT, DBT, solution-focused, mindfulness, and other integrative approaches, but I tailor the work to the individual rather than following a formula. Sometimes we may focus on practical tools for managing anxiety or emotions; other times we may slow down and explore relationships, experiences, patterns, or changes that are affecting you.

With more than 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults, I bring a broad perspective to the counseling relationship. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, develop practical skills, and feel more confident navigating whatever they are facing.

I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel supported while also feeling empowered to take an active role in their own growth. We will work together at a pace that feels manageable and meaningful to you.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to counseling. I’ll want to hear your perspective—what has been going on, what feels difficult right now, and what you hope might change. You don’t need to have everything figured out before we meet.

I try to make the first session feel comfortable and conversational rather than overwhelming. We’ll talk about your experiences, strengths, relationships, and current challenges, and begin identifying goals that feel meaningful to you.

Most importantly, the first session is about building trust and making sure you feel comfortable with me and with the counseling process. You should leave feeling heard, respected, and with a clearer sense of how we can work together moving forward.
