Great to meet you!

Welcome. I’m Kevin Caskey, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in California and Idaho. I earned my graduate degree from the University of Tennessee and have more than a decade of experience providing behavioral health services.

I work primarily with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, substance use concerns, life transitions, and the lasting effects of difficult or traumatic childhood experiences. I particularly enjoy working with healthcare professionals and others in high-stress careers who may be accustomed to taking care of everyone else while putting their own needs aside.

My approach is practical, collaborative, and straightforward. I want therapy to be a place where you can speak openly, better understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop realistic strategies for creating meaningful change. I value honesty, humor, and treating people like capable adults rather than diagnoses.

I offer appointments at alternative times, including evenings, to make therapy easier to fit into demanding schedules.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and straightforward. I work to create an environment where you can speak openly, feel respected, and better understand the patterns that may be contributing to distress or keeping you stuck.

I draw from evidence-based approaches while tailoring treatment to the individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. Depending on your needs, our work may include examining thoughts and behaviors, developing healthier coping strategies, addressing the impact of past experiences, and identifying concrete changes you can make in your daily life.

I believe therapy can be serious without feeling clinical or impersonal. Humor and authenticity are welcome when appropriate, and I see the therapeutic relationship as a partnership. My goal is not simply to help you feel better in the moment, but to help you develop greater insight, resilience, and confidence in managing challenges outside of therapy.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, my goal is to understand what brings you to therapy, what has been happening in your life, and what you would like to be different. We will talk about your current concerns, relevant history, strengths, supports, and any patterns you have noticed in how you respond to stress or difficult situations.

I also want you to get a sense of how I work and whether the fit feels right. I am conversational and collaborative, but I am also comfortable being direct when that is helpful. We will begin identifying priorities for treatment and develop a clear sense of what we want to work toward together.

You do not need to arrive with everything figured out. By the end of the first session, my goal is for you to feel heard, have a clearer understanding of where we might begin, and know what the next steps will look like.
