Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a bachelors in Psychology and a Masters in Social Work from UNCG/NCA&T joint master’s program. I participated in a research study as part of the Wake Forest Baptist Hospital Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery’s well published study on long term cognitive effects of plagiocephaly. After I gained my clinical licensure, I became certified in Family Centered Treatment. I have worked in a variety of settings, including Hospice, the VA, and other community mental health clinics.

Over the past 14 years, I’ve had the honor of working with our nation’s Veterans at the Veterans Administration. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in a range of settings, from community mental health centers to outpatient therapy clinics and Hospice, each experience deepening my appreciation for the resilience and strength people carry through life’s challenges.

I work with adults, couples, and groups on a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, anger management, and more. I have a particular focus on men’s issues, relational struggles, and recovering from trauma. My time in Hospice also sparked a passion for helping people navigate grief, not only the loss of loved ones but also losses tied to aging, changing identity, career transitions, medical diagnoses, and other major life shifts. Grief shows up in many forms, and my goal is to help you process it in a way that builds strength, clarity, and forward momentum.

My approach to therapy

I take an integrative and collaborative approach to therapy, drawing heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. My goal is to help clients develop practical tools to manage challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful change in their lives. I believe in focusing on strengths, promoting self-awareness, and fostering acceptance as key components of growth. Together, we work to identify patterns, clarify values, and take actionable steps toward a more fulfilling and balanced life.

What you can expect from me

Too often, we’re taught that being a man means toughing it out alone. I want to help you see that real courage doesn’t come from ignoring our emotions, but from facing them. Reaching out, talking about what’s challenging, and letting others in is what true courage looks like.
