Great to meet you!

As a Hmong and Asian-American therapist, I provide culturally attuned, depth-oriented psychotherapy for individuals navigating trauma, grief, life transitions, cultural identity, family dynamics, and personal growth. I am a storylistener, storyteller, learner, collaborator, and creative.

My work focuses on empathy, compassion, honoring lived experiences and challenging what we've been taught and conditioned by in the systems we live in. I provide a space for individuals to share their experiences, work through emotional distress, and empower them to show up as their full authentic selves. I value working with people from all backgrounds and neuroidentities.

My approach to therapy

You may be experiencing a sense of disconnection due to chronic stress or being in constant survival mode. Unacknowledged or unprocessed experiences with trauma, injustice, grief, loss, and neglect, can lead to emotional, mental, and physical overwhelm. This can show up as overfunctioning, fatigue, emotional dysregulation, burn out, numbing, people-pleasing, perfectionism, overthinking, hyper-independence, procrastination, and negative self-talk. Life doesn't have to feel this way. Together, we will work toward cultivating a deeper sense of safety, connection, and resilience, helping you feel more grounded in mind and body.

I primarily work from a psychodynamic perspective through a social justice lens. However, I do not believe in a one-size-fits all method. I use holistic and integrative therapy approaches that explore the mind-body connection, including restorative practices, relational and emotional experiencing, mindfulness, movement, nature, music, art, and somatic modalities. In counseling, I take a collaborative approach, challenging clients to deeply examine the self to develop insight and make meaningful change. We will practice and build the skills to address the conflicts and experiences of mind, body, soul, and their relationship to community.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, ask questions, discuss intentions and goals, and to experience how therapy might feel like moving forward.
