Great to meet you!

I am Dr. Kierra Carter, a licensed professional counselor supervisor in South Carolina and a clinical mental health counselor in serving individuals in North Carolina with a passion for helping clients heal, grow, and thrive. She is also a national certified counselor. Dr. Carter received her Ph.D. from North Carolina A&T State University and her M.A. from South Carolina State University. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and self-esteem concerns, while also supporting clients in building healthier relationships and coping skills.

My approach to therapy

With advanced training in mental health counseling and years of clinical experience, I provide compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each person’s unique journey. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and self-esteem concerns, while also supporting clients in building healthier relationships and coping skills. My approach is person-centered, strengths-based, and grounded in creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space. Together, we will work toward clarity, resilience, and meaningful change so you can live a more balanced and fulfilling life.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming space where you are invited to share your story at your own pace. My priority is to help you feel seen, heard, and understood while we begin building a genuine and trusting therapeutic relationship. We will complete an initial assessment to better understand your concerns, goals, strengths, and history, allowing me to tailor treatment to your unique needs. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, learn about my approach, and decide if we are a good fit. Together, we will begin creating an intentional, collaborative plan for your healing and growth.
