Great to meet you!
I switched to mental health work after spending a decade teaching high school English in a rural area. I continued to serve the rural and disabled populations in my internships and residency.
Once I was licensed, I moved to outpatient therapy in the community health setting. Covid-19 introduced teletherapy as a standard practice to the entire world, myself included. I transitioned to being fully virtual for outpatient therapy in January 2024.
I have decades of experience working with adolescents and the under-served in a variety of settings. My background and education have provided me with an understanding of the systems and dynamics that shape our worldviews. I apply this approach to my understanding of my clients' backgrounds and the external pressures that might be impacting them, directly and indirectly.
