Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m an LCSW-C licensed Social Worker in Maryland with over 25 years of experience supporting children, teens, and families through life’s challenges.

I have worked with students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, helping young people navigate anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, social pressures, school stress, family changes, and other life transitions.

I strive to create a warm, safe, and nonjudgmental space where children and teens feel comfortable being themselves, sharing what they’re experiencing, and building confidence and healthy coping skills. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, focusing on each young person’s individual needs and abilities.

I understand that seeking help can be a big step. I work collaboratively with families to help parents better understand and support their child while giving young people the space they need to develop their own voice.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should feel safe, supportive, and genuinely useful. My style is warm, comfortable, and down-to-earth, creating a space where children and teens can feel at ease, be themselves, and talk openly about what they’re experiencing.

I take a strengths-based approach, focusing not only on challenges but also on the abilities, values, and resilience that each young person already has. Together, we explore what’s getting in the way and identify practical skills and strategies that can help them feel more confident and better equipped to manage life’s challenges.

I also believe parents are an important part of the process. I work collaboratively with families while giving children and teens the space to develop their own voice and feel heard.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you or your child to therapy. We’ll talk about what has been going on, your family’s experiences, and what you’re hoping to change, understand, or strengthen.

I’ll ask questions to help me learn more about your child or teen, but there is no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with. My goal is to make the first session feel relaxed, welcoming, and supportive.

We’ll also review important information such as confidentiality, scheduling, and how Headway handles billing and insurance. By the end of our first session, you should have a better sense of what working together will feel like and whether we’re a good fit.
