Great to meet you!

I have lived in 5 countries, including Mexico, Honduras, and Papua New Guinea. I am active in the Vietnamese community with my husband's family and am sensitive to cultural differences and needs. I have two children and readily admit I am not a perfect parent! I enjoy yoga, scary movies, running, and word puzzles in my free time.

I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Math from the University of Houston and Master’s of Counseling from the University of Houston - Clear Lake. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) since 2010.

My approach to therapy

My passion is working with clients who have experienced a traumatic event. I am certified through the Strong Star Training Initiative with Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Crisis Response Plan to treat PTSD and suicidal thoughts. I use Exposure and Response Prevention to treat OCD symptoms.

What you can expect from me

My ideal client is someone who has a sense of humor. It is surprising how much laughter there is in my therapy sessions! I worked as a school counselor at the junior high level for eleven years before moving to private practice, which led to my passion for working with children and their parents. I enjoy working with adults with anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, and other issues. We collaborate to create goals of what they would like to see change in their lives and track progress over time using evidence-based metrics. I enjoy seeing people grow and improve over time as they put in the work to improve.
