Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with 20 years of experience supporting individuals and couples navigating cancer, chronic illness, grief, anxiety, trauma, and major life transitions. I founded Curveball Counseling to offer a steady, compassionate space where people can make sense of what they’re going through and regain their sense of stability and direction.

My professional background includes extensive work in oncology and medical settings, where I’ve supported patients, caregivers, and families through some of life’s most uncertain seasons. Alongside my clinical training, these experiences shaped my deep respect for the resilience people carry—even when they feel overwhelmed.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded in:

  • Evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Meaning-Centered Therapy and mindfulness
  • Relational, person-centered therapy that honors your story
  • Blending clinical skill and deep listening because healing happens through presence, curiosity, and connection—not through fixing, but through tending what needs care

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need to be “ready” or have the right words. You just need to show up—and we’ll go from there, together.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a sense of comfort and trust. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you here, what you’ve been carrying, and what you hope might feel different in your life. I’ll ask some questions to understand your history, strengths, and supports, but there’s no pressure to share everything at once — we move at your pace.

Many clients say they feel relieved after the first session, simply from having a space where they can speak openly and feel understood. By the end, we’ll clarify your goals and discuss what working together could look like so you can decide whether it feels like a good fit.
