Great to meet you!

I have been working in therapy, or mental health and addictions recovery, for the past 20 years. I enjoy working with adults who are going through a transition, change, need extra support, or are dealing with on-going struggles. Some areas I specialize in include managing symptoms of depression, anxiety, anger, ADHD, bi-polar, past trauma, parenting struggles, pregnancy and postpartum mood disorders, relationship issues, coping with a loved one's mental health or addiction, and addictions recovery.

My approach to therapy

My work focuses on tuning in and paying attention to our current emotions, thoughts, beliefs, body sensations, and patterns. We can then work to increase coping and acceptance, question or challenge unhelpful thinking, and shift focus to what is already working in our lives. Teaching and practicing coping skills, mindfulness, and relaxation skills have been a useful part of my practice.

What you can expect from me

I strive to create a safe, respectful, informal space for people to slow down, and give themselves the time and energy they need to explore how they feel about their lives, untangle their thoughts, and identify what they would like to be working towards.

I'll ask about your current symptoms, how they affect your life, and can give you prompts on what parts of your story to share, while also allowing you to set the tone and pace of what is discussed.
