Great to meet you!

Hi I'm Kristie, and I am a licensed clinical psychologist with about 15 years of experience. Over my career, I have worked in a variety of settings providing therapy as well as comprehensive psychological assessments for adults and children. Over the past few years I have shifted my practice to telehealth, and have specialties in treating adults with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Over the past few years, I have completed some additional training to aid in treating and supporting some of the specific challenges that affect women (pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder, PCOS, menopause, motherhood, pregnancy, postpartum related struggles, etc.). I am also passionate about understanding and identifying how certain neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD/Autism) can present differently in women. I believe knowledge is power, and I strive to empower my clients to build tools to help themselves.

My approach to therapy

I would describe my therapy style as genuine and eclectic. I believe in treating everyone with respect and compassion and do my best to tailor treatment strategies to match a client's needs and personality. Some of the treatment methods that I utilize include cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, humanistic therapy, as well as using mindfulness strategies. person-I believe that as a therapist it is my job to challenge my clients and not simply tell them what they want to hear. It is my opinion that if we are not being challenged, we're not growing! Life is hard and it is essential to have a sense of humor and find joy in the little things. It takes courage to seek help and I look forward to helping you on your journey towards becoming the best version of yourself you can be!

What you can expect from me

The first couple of sessions will involve completing a diagnostic assessment and collaborative treatment planning. This gives me an opportunity to learn your story, get to understand your history, and help put the pieces together to make a diagnosis when appropriate. Through this process, we will work together to create goals for a treatment plan to ensure we are focusing on goals that are most important to you. From there we will work together to work towards helping you reach these goals. If you are open to it, I am a big fan of giving "homework" or things to focus on in between sessions. In my experience, having homework outside of the session helps to maximize and generalize the skills we work on to achieve the desired outcomes.
