Great to meet you!

I’m Dr. Kristin, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Sex Therapist. In my work, I’m committed to serving minorities in the disability, LGBTQIA+, and relationship structure communities. This includes a focus on gender affirming therapy, medical trauma, chronic illness, body liberation, and consensual non-monogamy. I have earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Sex Therapy, Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy, and Master of Education in Human Sexuality.

My approach to therapy

I practice from a humanistic perspective, which means valuing the inherent worth of each individual and having a non-judgmental mindset. I strive to be authentic and genuine so the process of therapy is transparent. In sessions, I believe the client and therapist should be equals and that clients are most knowledgeable about their own lives. As a therapist, I then use my expertise of the therapeutic process to help clients identify patterns, reframe challenges, and facilitate change.

What you can expect from me

I work with those looking to gain insight into themselves and improve their quality of life. In our first session, my goal is to understand your difficulties and how they impact you as a whole. I will take a detailed history of your background, concerns, goals, and what you hope to accomplish in therapy. This information helps me provide you an individualized treatment plan. I then offer feedback in following sessions, so you can address thought or behavior patterns that serve as barriers.
