Kristin Hammond

I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of North Carolina and I truly love what I do. I have 27 years experience in outpatient therapy. I received both my BSW and MSW from East Carolina University. I work with adults and couples. I work with a broad range of issues including anxiety, panic, depression, life stressors, family dysfunction, trauma, self-esteem, and other emotional or behavioral issues. I have a passion for working with people who struggle with chronic illness due to my own experiences with MS.

I tend to use an eclectic style of therapy, mainly drawing upon CBT along with supportive counseling, solution focused therapy, mindfulness, and motivational type modalities. I do feel it is important to encompass mental, physical, and spiritual issues on your journey to healing and regaining your joy. Your treatment will be based on your needs and at your pace.

I think the most important thing to successful therapy is having a connection with your therapist. Rapport and trust are crucial in your path to healing. I really work hard to meet people where they are at and show respect and honor to their values and beliefs system.
