Great to meet you!

Trauma can take over so much of our daily life, from intrusive thoughts and flashbacks to a constant feeling of being unsafe and vulnerable. If this is your experience, I want you to know something important: this is changeable, even if it has been going on for a long time. I work with adults who have experienced childhood trauma, recent trauma, or both, and are ready to find ways to heal and lessen its impact on their lives going forward.

Many of the people I work with feel stuck in survival mode. They're exhausted from hypervigilance, tired of being triggered by things that shouldn't be a big deal, and longing for a sense of peace and safety they're not sure they've ever really felt. If that sounds like you, you're in the right place. You deserve peace in life and freedom from the effects of trauma, and I'm here to help you get there.

I specialize in trauma treatment using CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and other tried and true therapeutic techniques. My approach is practical and active. This isn't just about talking for an hour a week. I'll give you real tools and exercises you can use in the very moments that feel most difficult, so therapy becomes something that works for you throughout your days, not just in our sessions.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded in the belief that therapy can dramatically improve a person's understanding and healing after trauma. We'll discuss what brought you to therapy and decide together on the best ways to help you progress through treatment. I use CBT because it's especially effective for treating trauma, and I'll tailor our work to fit your specific needs and goals.

Let's talk about what you need to heal, to feel more in control of your life, and identify some realistic steps to get there. You'll be an active participant in making the changes you want to see. I'll teach you practical skills for managing intrusive thoughts, calming your nervous system, and building a sense of safety in your body and your life. Together, we'll work to help you put the painful parts of your life to rest and make room for all the good experiences life can bring.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we'll talk about your trauma history, what's been most difficult for you, and what you're hoping will change. I'll ask questions to understand how trauma is showing up in your daily life right now, whether that's through flashbacks, anxiety, relationship struggles, or feeling disconnected from yourself.

We'll also start identifying some realistic steps forward. I want you to leave our first session with at least one practical tool you can use right away. My goal is for you to feel heard, hopeful, and clear that healing is possible, even if it feels out of reach right now.
