Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Cloud State University. I spent nine years working in an outpatient community mental health setting, where I had the opportunity to work with individuals and families across many different stages of life before opening my own private practice.

My primary focus is women’s mental health, with a special interest in perinatal mental health and the transition into motherhood. I support women navigating pregnancy, postpartum, anxiety, depression, identity changes, relationship challenges, and the often-overwhelming mental load that can come with caring for others. I am also trained in EMDR, which can be especially helpful for women processing birth trauma or other difficult and overwhelming experiences.

Throughout my career, I have also worked with couples, teenagers, and young children and their families, including early childhood and infant mental health. These experiences have shaped the way I view mental health through a relational and whole-person lens.

I believe therapy should be a space where you can show up as your whole self—without judgment or the pressure to have everything figured out. My goal is to create a warm, supportive space where we can make sense of what you’re experiencing, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and work toward feeling more connected to yourself and the people you love.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, strength-based, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. You know yourself, your experiences, and your relationships better than anyone else. My role is to bring my clinical knowledge and mental health expertise to help you better understand what you’re experiencing, identify patterns, build on your strengths, and find tools that feel meaningful and realistic for you.

I don’t believe therapy should feel like someone simply telling you what to do. Instead, we’ll work together to figure out what you need and what steps make sense for you. I also believe that feeling comfortable and connected to your therapist is an important part of the process. I strive to create a space where you can be honest, feel understood, and show up as yourself. And when appropriate, I’m not afraid to use a little humor along the way, because therapy can be hard work, but it doesn’t always have to feel so heavy.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a strong foundation for our work together. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’re currently experiencing, and what you hope to get out of therapy. I’ll also take time to learn more about you as a whole person, not just the challenges that brought you in.

Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable and feel like you’re in a space where you can be yourself. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, so there’s no expectation that you have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. We’ll take the process at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and together we’ll begin identifying goals and determining how I can best support you.
