Great to meet you!

I received my degree in social work (MSSW) from the University of Texas at Austin and have 22 years experience as clinical social worker, therapist, and coach.

I work with children and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, thought and mood disorders, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My work is informed by humanistic (your experiences are valid) and ecological (goodness of fit) approaches. I incorporate mindfulness and a cognitive-behavioral therapy into my practice.

My approach to therapy

The relationship between client and therapist is the key to recovery. I will work to build a genuine connection with you to develop trust. From there we can explore the psychological, emotional, physical, and social forces that make up your experience. My belief is that you are the expert of your life, and my role is to join you on your path to living well by offering compassion, insight, and guidance to facilitate growth. I strive to create a space that is collaborative and inquisitive, exploring your experiences, strengths, culture, and needs.

What you can expect from me

The first session you can expect me to take time getting to know you and your needs. We'll discuss your goals for treatment and I'll tell you a bit about myself and what you can expect from me.
