Great to meet you!

I am a psychotherapist supporting individuals with disordered eating, problematic substance use, and anxiety.

My specialized approach is informed by 5 years of formal study in psychology, extensive post-graduate training at The Renfrew Center for Eating Disorders in their evidenced based treatment model, and further study through the Eating Recovery Center. I continue to advance my knowledge and skillset through integration of current research into my practice and regular consultation with experts in the field.

My approach to therapy

I understand disordered eating, substance use, and anxious behaviors to be a person’s best strategy for getting through a hard time. Kind of like a life raft. In our work together, we will collaborate to find other strategies to stay afloat, discover the roots of the issue, and open the door to deeper healing.

If there are people in your life already supporting you, I like to take a team approach.

Part of our work together will be my collaboration with your existing dietitians, PCPs, psychiatrists, treatment centers, previous psychotherapists, or any other helpers who have supported you along the way. If you do not yet have a multidisciplinary treatment team behind you, I can assist you in getting yours started.

Family and friends can also be a vital part of the healing journey. I have experience holding sessions with clients and their families, friends, and partners. These sessions can be helpful in integrating your insights from our one-on-one sessions into your relationships in a supported way.

With all this being said, the most vital ingredient in our work together will be you. Your voice, your goals, your vision. In our partnership, I will bring specialized knowledge, skills, and guardrails for safety, you will bring your expertise on your life and what will work best for you.

What you can expect from me

We will start our first session by getting to know each other. We will go through a comprehensive assessment so I can start to understand your concerns and history. We will end by discussing your ideas for therapeutic goals and any feedback you have for me on our first session together.
