Great to meet you!

Lakeisha McKnabb is a military veteran and has been practicing counseling for over 18 years. She attended graduate school at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Lakeisha is currently the owner of McKnabb Counseling Solutions PLLC in Gastonia NC, in addition to supervising and mentoring newly licensed therapist within the community.

She is passionate about her family, enjoying life, and encouraging the self determination and tolerance of all persons.

My approach to therapy

Her therapeutic approach is trauma informed and is inspired by various evidence based practices/approaches including crisis response management, brief-solution focused therapy, neurosequential model of therapeutics, family centered treatment and family systems models. "I could see myself in the shoes of any client sitting across from me, but remaining curious to their unique story".

What you can expect from me

Lakeisha expects clients to walk away with a clear understanding and open, honest communication of how the therapeutic partnership can work... IF it's the best fit for the individual. If not, she is well versed and happy to refer out to the best resources that matches the individuals needs. "The therapeutic relationship should not be forced, but it can have tough moments. With trust, those tough moments can create health and healing."
