Dr. Lakitha Owens is a hearing, Black, cisgendered woman, she has a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Gallaudet University. She is the founder of Purple Cares, which seeks to provide caring and compassionate mental health services to children and adults.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Dr. Owens takes a trauma informed and playful approach to processing and producing change including. Dr. Owens has trained in trauma-informed treatment modalities and remains conscious to and sensitive of cultural and individual differences. She is passionate about providing care to children, caregivers and individual adults in areas of managing mood and stress, adjusting to life challenges/ transitions, improving relationships, setting boundaries, and trauma healing journey.
