Great to meet you!

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you're facing challenges, feeling stuck, or simply trying to better understand yourself. I work with adults who are navigating life's transitions, emotional challenges, relationship difficulties, and the lasting effects of childhood trauma. Whether you're struggling with experiences from your past, facing difficulties in your relationships, or seeking personal growth, I believe you deserve a space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment.

As a licensed mental health counselor, educator, and mentor, I am passionate about helping adults recognize their strengths, understand how their past experiences have shaped them, and discover healthier ways to move forward. My goal is not just to help you work through your current challenges, but to help you develop the self-awareness, confidence, and tools needed to create meaningful change in your life. Wherever you are in your journey, I want you to know that you don't have to navigate it alone.

My approach to therapy

Sometimes, the challenges we face as adults are deeply connected to experiences from our childhood, including unresolved trauma, difficult relationships, and important stages of personal development. My approach to therapy focuses on helping you understand how those experiences have shaped your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships today.

I use a developmental approach alongside Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, solution-focused techniques, and Erik Erikson's stages of psychosocial development. During our sessions, we will explore past experiences, identify patterns that may be affecting your present life, and examine how your thoughts and behaviors influence your emotional well-being. Through CBT, we can work on recognizing and changing unhelpful thought patterns, while solution-focused techniques help us identify your strengths, establish goals, and develop practical strategies for moving forward.

My experience as a licensed mental health counselor, educator, and mentor has shaped my understanding of how childhood experiences and developmental challenges can affect individuals throughout adulthood. I strive to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences at your own pace. My goal is to help you gain greater self-awareness, process difficult experiences, develop healthier coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy with someone new can bring a mix of emotions, from nervousness and uncertainty to hope and excitement. Whether you're seeking support for emotional challenges, relationship concerns, major life changes, or personal growth, I want your first session to be a comfortable and welcoming experience.

During our first meeting, we'll take time to get to know one another and discuss what brought you to therapy. I'll ask questions about your background, experiences, current concerns, and what you hope to accomplish. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions and share anything you feel is important for me to understand.

My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard and respected. There is no expectation for you to have everything figured out or to share more than you're comfortable with. Together, we'll begin identifying your goals and exploring how therapy can support your growth and well-being.
