Great to meet you!

With over a decade of nursing experience, LaQuida “Love” Johnson, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, combines clinical expertise with a modern, whole-person approach to wellness.

I believe mental health care should feel personal, supportive, and free of judgment. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself and discussing what you’re experiencing openly. I take the time to listen, understand your concerns, and work with you, not just prescribe medication. I value education and shared decision-making, so you’ll understand your treatment options and have an active voice in your care. Most importantly, I recognize that healing looks different for everyone, and I’ll meet you where you are while supporting you along your journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to providing care is patient-centered, holistic, and evidence-based. I focus on understanding each patient as a whole person rather than treating symptoms alone. I use comprehensive assessment, medication management, patient education, and shared decision-making to develop individualized treatment plans. I also prioritize building a therapeutic relationship where patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their care. My goal is to provide safe, compassionate treatment that promotes stability, recovery, and long-term mental wellness.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect a relaxed, nonjudgmental conversation focused on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to care. We’ll discuss your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, medications, lifestyle, and treatment goals. Together, we’ll identify your needs and develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, education, and supportive strategies. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and clear about the next steps in your care.
